The Study on the Characteristic Sound Pressure Level and Frequency of Noise Exposure in PKM


Abstract
To examine the overall level and the distribution of sound pressure level over audible frequency range of noise produced at various sites in PKM, 6 PKM were examined from June to September 1993 about their noise leve
l and characteristics.
@ES The summary of results is as follows:
@EN 1. Engine room recorded the highest sound pressure level and exceeded threshold limit by ACGIH.
2. Sound pressure level increase according to increasing speed. In engine room sound intensity recorded 101dBA at ide 114dBA at 1,400rpm, 117dBA at 1,600rpm, 120dBA at 1,800rpm.
3. The frequency analysis of noise revealed that the engine room had the maximum sound pressure level at high frequencies. In addition, significantly higher sound pressure level was detected at the high frequencies at engine room as compared to
other
work sites.
